Rime of the Ancient Mariner: The art of Jesse

~~ Uploading from the South West ~~

Power is the word, and the feeling is shock!  If you are weak, stay there standing in the freezing rain,
ponder on the words of other days past...

If you can think about the IF's in life, then you are here.  This place is wild.  The people are mostly uneducated, and they don't care to turn on the signal 100 yards before turning.  They flash it at the last moment.

They wear Popular clothing, and the latest hairstyles, but their look is in contrast to their values, and especially their actions.  This is the attitude of the People here in the South West.  Believers in dogma, doers of the Word, pretenders in the closet.  Just observing; Quietly...

  10. NoreenDye,

you should educate me more about perspective, I need a lesson...

    How is the world?

  11. Well perspective is like this. People hear my choices in life and they dont understand when i pick the one that is not true to me. Well because Id rather not hurt someone. Its not selfish. SOme people choose to be themselves totally and maybe i hide things to spare someones feelings becasue Im kind and they say just be yourself. And well in a reverse psychology way me not being myself is me actually being myself becasue I think I am kind a word that i would like people to use to describe me. So a perspective is that I am actually being me by not being me. Clear as mud I assume. ha.

The world is the world. Some days kind to me other days rough on me...

  12. NoreenDye,

sometimes the feeling takes me over, when I was in art classes, I felt the nudge of honesty, and then I felt the conviction of humbleness. It is quite a complex moment. I feel that artists are human, and with their training or not their training, because there are a lot of famous, even brilliant artists out there who don't need that academics of art history as portrayed by the elitist educational genre.

And there are those moments, when I completely hate what I am looking at. Especially an artist with an advanced degree in their trade. Most of the artists that I have known are those super Master Degree artists. And they have always looked at my art and stated; they wish they had the passion as I produce.

I think that being not entirely honest, and basically being one self, especially when the colors of our skin turns colors is the best way to be. So in conclusion, I admire your tact. Even if I don't completely agree with it....LOL

Tell me more about perspective as it relates to the social critique circles after art shows.

  13. well after shows Ive been a bit dissapointed... For example after last Fridays show i asked many friends what they thought of the new opening of Kenyon Colleges new Gund Gallery. No one went. Im dying for artists friends that actually experience the galleries and arts around us. I was flabergasted that no one went. Really Kenyon college is a very prestigious college for our area. Paul Newman and I believe President HArding? and How I met your mother star and Jamie Lee Curtis daughter have attended. Its in Gambier Ohio a neighboring town but they just built a new gallery and had an opening for it and no one went. i went by myself. i struggle with finding people to have academic social commentary after shows. sigh.

  14. Ah, NoreenDye,

it is there in the mist of the moments where you will find companionship with the ones you desire...

It is where if you look to the side and take that risk of sharing, even though the moment is awkward, you will strike that High Art conversation...

Keep at it, and plan to travel to other States, and you will find the same ones, the same you, the same perplexity...

That is living in the art world, never truly understanding, and when we think we do, if we look hard enough, the answer is uncomfortable, and revealing...
